Lizzie’s Yurthedral

Last year we were visited by Lizzie and John Hopthrow who wished to discuss a very special project with us.  They were looking for a yurt to use as a sacred space for their on-going venture – The Quiet View (www.quietview.co.uk) in Canterbury. We designed a yurt specifically for them and we erected it just before Easter. Lizzie is extremely knowledgeable about Labyrinths and it is her intention to use internal labyrinths in the yurt. This made the design and construction of the floor that much more important.

Even before we put the canvas on Lizzie could feel the positive energy of just walking into the frame. When we put the canvas on she exclaimed, “It looks like a cathedral.” Hence the term yurthedral was formed.  This is a very special yurt for Lizzie, and for the whole team. We know that it will continue to provide the sacred space Lizzie intends, for large numbers of people, for a long time to come.
